How to apply kajal that actually stays put.
The lash-line technique, the one-step trick to set it, and how to wear kajal if you have sensitive eyes or contact lenses.
— the metabu studio

Kajal is the fastest way to make eyes look awake and defined — one stroke and you are done. But a soft, creamy formula is also the easiest to smudge. Here is the technique our artists use to get clean, long-wearing kajal that holds from morning to night.
01 · start at the lash line
Begin from the inner corner and draw along the upper lash line in short, light strokes, staying close to the roots of the lashes. Short strokes give you control; one long drag never sits as cleanly.
02 · build to taste, then choose your finish
Go over the line again to deepen it — thin for everyday, bolder for a defined look. For a crisp line, leave it as is. For a soft smoky eye, smudge gently with a cotton bud or a small brush while the kajal is still fresh.
03 · the one-step trick to set it
This is the part most people skip. Lightly press a matching black or neutral eyeshadow over the kajal line with a small brush. The powder sets the creamy formula so it resists smudging and transfer for far longer.
"Powder over the line is the whole secret. Without it you have colour; with it you have wear time."
04 · sensitive eyes & contact lenses
If you have sensitive eyes or wear contacts, line the upper lash line rather than the inner waterline, and insert your lenses before applying. Remove gently each night with a mild eye-makeup remover, and stop use if you notice any irritation. The full ingredient list is on every product page.

Frequently asked.
How do I stop my kajal from smudging?
Apply on clean, oil-free lids, let it set for a few seconds before blinking, and press a matching black or neutral eyeshadow over the line to lock the formula. Keep the under-eye area oil-free and avoid rubbing your eyes.
Can I wear kajal with contact lenses?
Yes. Insert your lenses first, line the upper lash line rather than the inner waterline, and remove the kajal gently at night with a mild eye-makeup remover. Stop use if you notice irritation.
What is the difference between kajal and eyeliner?
Kajal is a soft, smudgeable pencil for everyday definition and smoky looks; eyeliner — especially liquid or gel — gives a sharper, more precise line, better for a defined wing. Many people use both.
