Concealer for dark circles on Indian skin — the shade, and the method.
Most concealer advice is written for circles that look blue on pale skin. Indian under-eyes are usually brown, grey or a mix, and that changes both the shade you pick and how much you use.

The short version: match the concealer to the skin on your jawline rather than to your under-eye, put on far less than you think, tap it rather than rub it, and set it with a light dusting of powder. Most under-eye creasing is not the formula failing — it is three layers of product where one would have done.
01 · know what you are actually covering
Under-eye darkness comes in three kinds, and they do not respond the same way. Pigmentation is brown, sits flat on the skin, and is the most common on Indian skin — it covers well. Vascular darkness reads blue, grey or purple, shows through thin skin, and needs less product than people use on it. And then there is shadow: a hollow under the eye casting a shade, which no concealer can fill, because the problem is the shape of your face and not its colour. If your circles vanish when you tilt your face towards a light, you are looking at shadow, and more product will only make it chalky.
02 · pick the shade against your jawline, in daylight
The instinct is to buy a concealer a few shades lighter for brightness. On warm Indian undertones that is how you end up with a grey patch that sits over your face rather than in it. Match to the skin along your jawline in natural light and pick the shade that disappears into it. If you are between two, take the deeper one — a concealer slightly too deep looks like skin, while one slightly too light reads as makeup from across a room.

03 · less product, tapped in, not rubbed
Under-eye skin is the thinnest on the face and it moves every time you blink or smile. Put a few small dots along the darkness — not a full crescent from nose to temple — and tap them out with a fingertip or a damp sponge. Tapping presses the product into skin; dragging a brush across pulls it into a film that has to crack somewhere. Build a second thin layer only over the part that is still showing.
A concealer that creases at 4 pm is usually a concealer that was applied three times too thickly at 9 am.
04 · set it, but only where it moves
A light dusting of powder over the concealer is what keeps it in place through an Indian afternoon. Keep it light and keep it to the inner corner and the crease where the skin folds — powdering the whole under-eye flattens the light-diffusing finish you paid for and can emphasise texture. If your skin is dry, press the powder in with a puff rather than sweeping it with a brush.
05 · what concealer is not going to do
Worth saying plainly, because the category rarely does. Concealer covers colour for a day. It does not treat pigmentation, it does not fill a hollow, and it does not replace sleep, water or sunscreen — and pigmentation under the eyes gets darker with sun exposure, which is the one thing most people leave out of the routine. Use it for the day you are having; treat the cause separately.
