Concealer for dark circles: how to choose and apply it on Indian skin.

Under-eye darkness is extremely common on Indian skin, and it is usually a mix of blue-grey shadow and brown pigmentation. That is why a single concealer often is not enough — pile on more and you get a grey, cakey patch that creases. The fix is correcting the colour before you conceal.

correct before you conceal

On the colour wheel, peach and orange sit opposite blue and grey — so a peach or orange corrector cancels the darkness instead of just covering it. Fair-to-wheatish skin needs a light peach; dusky and deep skin needs a true orange. Pat a thin layer only where it is darkest, then build.

pick the right shade

Your concealer should be one shade lighter than your foundation — no more — and in the same undertone family. Going too light is the classic mistake that leaves a pale "reverse-panda" ring that ages the face.

apply in a triangle, not a line

Draw a downward triangle under the eye — base along the lash line, point toward the cheek — rather than a single swipe in the crease. Blend with a damp sponge or a warm fingertip. The triangle brightens the whole under-eye and lifts the face.

set so it does not crease

Press a tiny amount of light powder over the concealer with a small brush — press, do not sweep. Thin layers plus a light set are what stop creasing through a long Indian afternoon.

"If your dark circles still look grey after concealer, you skipped the corrector. Colour-correct first, every time."

Frequently asked.

Which concealer is best for dark circles on Indian skin?

A full-coverage concealer paired with a peach or orange corrector works best, because Indian under-eye darkness is usually blue-grey shadow plus brown pigmentation. Correct the colour first, then conceal.

Should concealer be lighter than foundation?

Only by one shade, and in the same undertone family. Going more than one shade lighter creates a pale ring that draws attention to the under-eye instead of hiding it.

Why do my dark circles still look grey after applying concealer?

Because concealer alone covers but does not neutralise blue-grey tones. Use a peach (lighter skin) or orange (deeper skin) corrector underneath first, then a thin layer of concealer on top.

How do I stop concealer creasing under my eyes?

Apply thin layers in a triangle shape, blend with a damp sponge, and set with a light press of powder rather than a heavy sweep. Less product creases less.
